Description
Motina Books is celebrating three of our favorite Librarians! Librarians truly are heroes who bring entertainment, education, and so many more benefits to the world. Celebrate with us!
- Dr. Carla Hayden is the first African-American AND female Librarian of Congress. She was wrongly fired by the Trump administration with just one year left to go on her term.
- Emily Reed was a Librarian in 1959 Montgomery, Alabama who fought against book banning, specifically the book entitled The Rabbit’s Wedding. This book was written and illustrated by Garth Williams, the illustrator of the Little House books and Charlotte’s Web.
- Terri Lesley was the Library Director in Gillette, Wyoming until she was fired for refusing to remove LGBTQ themed books from their shelves. She recently won a settlement in a lawsuit, where she stood up against book banning.
